First Appearance: Final Fantasy. Has appeared in every core title except XIII. Appears as both a sword and an ability.
Real World Lore: The sword given to King Arthur by the Lady of the Lake after the sword he pulled from the stone broke.


Aegis
First Appearance: Final Fantasy. Has appeared in every core title except XIII. Appears as a Aegis Shield, Aegis Glove, Aegis Armlet, Aegis, or Aezis. Usually one of the best defensive items in the game.
Real World Lore: The Shield wielded by Athena in Greek mythology. In some Greek depictions Aegis is a breastplate belonging to Zeus that he lends to various gods.

First Appearance: Final Fantasy X, Yuna's celestial weapon.
Real World Lore: the profound peace of mind that is acquired with liberation. In Hindu philosophy it is union with Brahman, the Supreme Being. In Buddhism it refers to the imperturbable stillness of mind once one let goes of desire, aversion and delusion; it also ends the cycle of reincarnation.

Real World Lore: May refer to Yoshimitsu from Tekken/Soul Calibur or to Minamoto no Yoshimitsu, the samurai the former likely drew inspiration from, who dissected coprses from battle to learn techniques for joint-locking and vital point striking; these discoveries led to his creation of Daitō-ryū aiki-jūjutsu.


Sasuke's Blades
First Appearance: Final Fantasy V (remakes of Final Fantasy renamed the Katana item to Sasuke's Blade) Also known as Sasuke's Katana, Sasuke Knife, Sasuke's Kodachi, Ninja Blade, Sasuke, Hardened, and Katana.
Real World Lore: Named for Sarutobi Sasuke, a famous Japanese ninja.

Kan-E-Senna has Claustrum, the Relic staff.
